You'r...I absolutely love old musical classics. You're right. I'm not a musician and I still appreciate the vibe of music worldwide. I'm one of those types that try to point out little things like you said (oboe etc) although I have played in bands throughout grade and middle school, my ear is still not that great at it. I find it somewhat like a game and really enjoy the diversity of so many instruments to compliment. Actually one thing I really like doing is trying to envision what the musician designed the music for (i.e. if it were to be in a movie, what scene would it enhance?). Bleh, you know all this already being a musician yourself.
